In 2014 I had the opportunity to go on a quick residency through Artscape Gibraltar Point in Toronto. It as an incredible time of dedicated art making in an idyllic environment tailored to that purpose. It was made even better by the fact that my wife and son were able to accompany me (they spent a lot of time on the many beaches on the island) and my artist friend Meg Hine was in residence at the same time, so we shared a studio. All in all, it was a wonderfully refreshing and productive time, and I am very excited about the work I was able to produce. In order to be able to pay for this trip, I ran a Kickstarter campaign that was successfully funded. I am very thankful to all my backers for making this possible. One of the rewards I offered my backers at every tier was an ebook that I produced, filled with all the work and my experience of the residency.
One morning I got up early to take photos on the island and I happened to stumble upon some kind of bird migration. Just endless birds, as far as the eye can see.
