Each year I make it a point to take some time away from everything and do a short backpacking trip or two. The trips are always a blast, but I also find them photographically invigorating as I explore some of the lesser visited spaces near my home.
The Catskills, NY - 2024
Hiking through the Catskills any time of the year is great, but during peak fall colors, it's just magical. I was on the Devil's Path in the Indian Head Wilderness, and these two scenes caught my eye.

My favorite images from this trip came from the cool and rainy weather conditions we experienced. It wasn't the most fun to hike in, but it made for some uniquely beautiful scenery.
